<P>First appointed in 1861 as Town Moor Committee, a Standing Committee. This was changed to Town Moor Management Committee in 1869. In 1905 it absorbed the functions of the Parks Committee to become Town Moor and Parks Committee until July 1967 when, as part of the general reorganisation its functions were merged into a new Civic Services Committee. Its functions were delegated to two sub-committees of Civic Services - this Working Group, and Town Moor improvements Joint sub-committee.</P>
