| Description | These two log books provide a detailed insight into the running of the school. They contain significant information about pupils admitted, the teaching of lessons and also include numerous references to local events, especially the spread of disease. The log books also include transcribed copies of the annual reports of HM Inspectors.
It should be noted that in 1884 the school appears to have been re-organised into distinct Infants and Mixed departments. From that time separate log books seem to have been kept by both. The Infants log book for the years 1885-1902 does not appear to have survived. |
