<P>Set up as a Special Committee as to Entertainments but became Special Committee for the Encouragement of Cultural Activities in 1951. Name changed to Cultural Activities Committee 1958 and to Arts Committee in June 1967. Later that year its functions were absorbed by Planning and it became a Working Group of that Committee.</P>
<P>Discontinued 1973 when new Arts and Libraries Committee created.</P>
