AdminHistory | Originally a voluntary school maintained by Bath Lane Congregational Church and opened in 1872 as part of the Bath Lane Elementary Schools. The school was taken over in 1904 by the Newcastle Education Committee and became a Council School. At the beginning of 1937 the Infants moved in to the Junior School building to form a combined Junior and Infants' School. Rutherford College grew out of a Science and Art Department of this school established in 1877 and further information may be found in the Bath Lane Day Schools/Rutherford College Minutes (E/NC14/1/1/1-3). |
